Field Day

A Celebration of Summer

The annual Field Day at St. John Paul II Catholic Academy’s (SJP) Lower Mills campus is a joyful, end-of-school-year tradition that brings students, staff, and families together for a day filled with laughter and connection. Held in Dorchester, this event draws over 275 elementary school students to enjoy games, activities, and a sense of community.

The Corey C. Griffin Foundation proudly sponsors this cherished event, providing everything from bouncy houses and bubble-making stations to t-shirts, hats, and pizza for lunch. Volunteers, including Foundation staff, the Griffin family, and local high school seniors, make the day even more special. Their support reflects the Foundation’s deep-rooted commitment to “Corey’s Kids” and the broader SJP community.

A Decade of Fun

For 10 years, this partnership has flourished, built on shared values of faith, care, and a dedication to student success. As Principal Lisa Warshafsky notes, “It’s not just financial support; it’s about fostering lasting impact through relationships and shared purpose.”

The Field Day exemplifies the Foundation’s mission to create opportunities for Boston-area children to thrive by combining mentorship, community engagement, and holistic support. It’s more than a celebration; it’s a testament to the power of partnerships in shaping a brighter future for our youth.
